Producing low-carbon batteries in Europe while contributing to a sustainable and sovereign industry: this has been the challenge we have been tackling at Verkor since our creation in 2020. This ambition is fully aligned with the European energy transition, addressing both industrial sovereignty and decarbonization challenges. Today, it is taking shape through the development of our Gigafactory in Dunkerque, a key milestone in scaling up to large-scale industrial production.
To meet the challenge of ramping up production, Verkor is deploying a “digital by design” model, where digital technologies are integrated from the very beginning of the factory’s design.
This model is based on:
This approach improves decision-making, enables continuous performance monitoring, and strengthens operational efficiency.
It is in this context that our partnership with Capgemini takes place. Together, the teams have designed a digital backbone aligned with the industrial processes of the Verkor Innovation Centre in Grenoble, through to the deployment of digital solutions in the Dunkerque Gigafactory.
The objective is clear: to accelerate industrial performance, reduce risks associated with ramp-up, and better control quality, costs, and operational efficiency. This approach also allows us to fully leverage the potential of data and AI.
