The two companies will work together on the development, manufacture and\u00a0commercialisation of battery modules and parts using Verkor\u2019s cells. Starting in 2025, Plastic Omnium will have preferred access to an initial volume of at least 4 GWh per year from Verkor\u2019s industrial manufacturing site\u00a0in Dunkirk (in the north of France).<\/p>\n<p>The partnership will\u00a0focus on the high growth clean mobility markets of personal and light commercial vehicle solutions(&lt;3t) and semi heavy-duty vehicles(&lt;16t) and will be open to opportunities in stationary storage applications. Plastic Omnium brings its savoir-faire in the assembly of complex automotive parts, and Verkor brings its expertise\u00a0in the development of high-powered, low-carbon sustainable battery cells.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the partnership, Plastic Omnium announced that\u00a0it is investing \u20ac20 million in Verkor. The move will allow Verkor to expand its presence across what are strategic growth markets for both companies.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThis new industrial partnership positions Verkor as a key player in the electric mobility space and gives us the opportunity to develop our expertise on the commercial vehicles and stationary storage markets.
